Shima Film Corporation, an affiliate of Shimakikai Co., Ltd. acquired the distribution rights to the film "Work and Day.” The company approached the city of Ayabe about holding a screening of the film in the Oku-Kambayashi area of Ayabe City, where the film was shot, particularly at the former Oku-Kambayashi Elementary School (then the Oku-Kambayashi Training Center), which had been closed down.

The city of Ayabe was faced with the issue of how to utilize the former Oku-Kambayashi Elementary School considered a forward-thinking proposal from Shimakikai Co. for how to do so. As part of a proposal from the City of Ayabe for revitalizing the entire Oku-Kambayashi area, not limited to the use of the former Oku-Kambayashi Elementary School, a comprehensive agreement was signed between the Oku-Kambayashi Regional Development Council and Shimakikai Co.

Shimakikai Co., Ltd. purchased a building along a prefectural road near the Ayabe Hot Springs that was once a favorite restaurant and guest house of the local community. The building was purchased by Shimakikai Co., Ltd. and opened in March 2022 as a "community shared space where local residents can casually get together and become a part of each other’s daily lives.
